Open Farm Days is a great opportunity to get out of the city, or town and visit
Who is excited for Open Farm Days weekend? Here are some things you should keep in mind before you hit the road.
🕴 Please make sure you’ve scheduled your visit with your farms. Because of the current guidelines farms are only allowed to have 100 people at their event at a time. Scheduling your visit helps our farms manage attendance. If you have not scheduled your visit, you may be asked to wait until it is safe to enter. https://albertafarmdays.ca/host-farms/
🐄 Keep your distance! Remember to stay 2 metres (6 feet or one cow) away from people not in your cohort. Maintain your hand hygiene, keep a mask handy in case physical distancing isn’t possible, and if you’re not feeling well, it’s best to stay home.
💰 Bring cash!! While Open Farm Days is a free event, there may be paid activities. You might see some farm fresh products you’d like to buy, or some farms may have lunch you’ll be able to purchase. Debit/credit card transactions may not be available.
☃️ Bring a cooler! This will be handy for all the fresh products you’ve purchased
👟 Be prepared for the weather (and mosquitoes) and appropriate shoe wear is a must.
📷 Charge your phone/camera because you’re going to want to take a lot of pictures
🐶 No pets. At all. Please leave Rover at home. Pets are not allowed on farms.
