Alberta Open Farm Days is a weekend that brings Albertans together, and we want you to be our guest. You’ll come away knowing your rural neighbours a little bit better and how food gets from the farm to your table.
On August 17th and 18th local chefs from across the province will team up with Alberta producers to offer a memorable series of culinary experiences. This year’s culinary events include something for everyone. Choose one of the great events listed below and enjoy the tastes of Alberta agriculture.

The 124 Grand Market is proud to present their 6th annual culinary event for Open Farm Days, known as The Grand Taste Tour.
The Grand Taste Tour will include a tractor ride through Stonepost Farms and Camola Foods as well as various workshops held throughout the day. To finish the evening, an exquisite meal will be served by local Edmonton chefs, with all food sourced from our farm partners (Stonepost Farms and Camola Foods).
Transportation is provided (limited seating). There is also be a self-guided option. Stay tuned for the tickets coming on sale and further information.

August Dinner by the Prairie Farm Project at Lazy T Farm

Our event will be put on by the Prairie Farm Project, which is a group of young farms including Lazy T farm, Redtail Farm, and Lady's Hat Farm. Join us for a farm tour where we will share the history of our 5th generation and what we are up to currently on our farm. the dinner will be prepared by chef Jason Barton-Browne, using local ingredients from the Prairie Farm Project. Dinner will be followed by entertainment and a campfire. Camping available.

A lunch is being prepared by local restaurant Madhatters of salad with Haskap vinegrette and fresh berries, chicken sandwish and a haskap dessert. Haskap Melomel wine can also be sampled and purchased.
Farm to Table Buffet supper with Prime Rib, BBQ Back Ribs, and Fried Chicken. Music and Cowboy Poetry throughout the evening.

Farm to Fork Country Supper & tour (Starland County)
Join us for a bus tour of local food producers, including a fish farm, dairy, bison ranch and honey producer. The bus tour will be followed by a long table supper in an historic barn, highlighting locally produced foods prepared by Sublime Food & Wine (local chef).
This is a special opportunity to connect local farmers to urban consumers. Two ticket options are available: Tour & Supper or Supper only.

Join us for welcome canapés followed by your farm tour with farmer Tam Andersen of Prairie Gardens and a 5-course meal in the greenhouse with chefs Kathryn, Elyse and Brooke from Get Cooking.
You’ll begin your night with welcome canapés, cooked with you over an open wood fire. Then you will join proprietor Tam Andersen for an exploratory farm tour. We’ll be serving a menu chosen to highlight the diversity of delicious produce, herbs and flowers grown on Tam’s farm, and cooking a lamb from the farm and other locally sourced seafood and meats as well. And all of our dishes will be finished in front of you, on wood burning fires set up by the greenhouse entrance. Get Cooking will be inviting you to interact with us as we cook, this time over fire and on the farm, and to experience with us the joy of cooking local by our sides.

Can Purchase water on premise for $1.00. Food includes tour of bison pasture to meet the bison up close.
First nations representative will be discussing the importance of the bison for their culture and the health benefits to the first nations people.

Mountain View County is hosting a bus tour on Saturday August 17. The Tour will start at the Cremona Gold and Silver Center and include stops at Fallentimber Meader, Akesi Farms, Bergen Farmers Market and Double N Ranch. The tour will be stopping at the Bergen Farmers Market and having lunch that consists of locally sourced meats and produce and is prepared by the Bergen Community Association.
Season & Supply/Westway Farms Ltd./Born Colorado Brewing presents: Alberta Open Farm Days Experience
Little Food Truck on the Prairie will prepare 4 courses – with Westway Farms (beef, grains) Shirleys Greenhouse (vegetables) Season & Supply (honey, vegetables, other meat), and Born Colorado Brewing (Beer). The event will be a plated long table dinner highlighting the food produced in our area paired with beer made from Westway Farms Malt Barley by Born Colorado brewing. Every ingredient will be from the above farms or sourced from a local neighboring farm.
Tour bus leaves Born Colorado Brewing Calgary at 2pm, then to Shirleys Greenhouses for 3pm, then to Westway Farms for 4pm.
Join us on Sunday, August 18th from 6-9pm as we celebrate Alberta Open Farm days with the Old Red Barn - located just minutes outside of Leduc, Alberta.
What better place to feature Alberta dairy than on an Alberta dairy farm! We'll be presenting a four course Farm to Table menu centered on beautiful dairy and cheese products from local producers on the stunning grounds of Glen Park Holsteins dairy farm.
Tickets are $125 each + GST, and purchased through Eventbrite link below. Alcoholic beverages not included (but available on site).
Come cheer on your favorite team or sign up as a team. Bring your grill, relax, get to know the other teams. Teams will receive free entry into the competition. All teams will use Your Local Ranch meat for the contest which teams will buy prior to the competition.
