Farm Dinner Series: The CL Ranch

On Open Farm Days, Join Eau Claire Distillery for their farm dinner series featuring renowned Canadian Beef Industry expert Cherie Copithorne-Barnes as she talks about sustainable beef programs with food industry guests.

Eau Claire Distillery will open its doors for guests to experience a locally sourced three course gourmet meal prepared by Chef Judy Wood of Meez Cuisine  along with three custom craft cocktails using Eau Claire  Distillery spirits featuring CL Ranches Alberta Beef and an opportunity to enjoy specially made ice cream powered by horse on an antique treadmill, like nothing you’ve ever experienced before, all on the grounds of Eau Claire’s Distillery Garden.

The CL Ranches Ltd. was established in 1887 on the banks of the Jumping Pound Creek west of Calgary in Alberta’s beautiful Rocky Mountain foothills. The Copithorne family has been in the cattle business for over 100 years, and are committed to producing an economically efficient, environmentally compatible animal which delivers the highest quality uniform beef product. Alongside CL Ranches, the dinner will feature renowned Canadian Beef Industry expert Cherie Copithorne-Barnes as she talks about sustainable beef programs with food industry guests including Calgary restaurateur Stephen Deere of Modern Steak and Dan Berezan of CultivatR – an online farmers market using exclusively Alberta Beef.

Eau Claire Distillery’s three-course meal will be prepared by Chef Judy Wood of Meez Cuisine who was Global Calgary’s Saturday Morning Chef for 13 years, founder of Savoury Cafe and Catering, and, above all, a highly respected chef in Calgary.

For this dinner we are asking attendees make a small donation to the Alex Community Food Centre or bring a donation on the day of the event. The Alex’s health, housing and food programs support Calgary’s most vulnerable neighbors, tackling tough health and social issues head-on.

Tickets are available for $125 with transportation from two pickup locations including Hotel Arts in downtown Calgary as well as the Delta South or $98 without transportation.”

Join us on August 17th or 18th when more than 100 farms, ranches and ag-tourism operators open their gates and invite visitors to share in local stories, see on-farm demonstrations and purchase locally grown and produced products.
